Following the releases of Weapons and Together earlier this month, the series of top notch horror/thriller films persists. It is safe to say that Bring Her Back stands out as the most terrifying of them all, due to its staging and unfolding – complemented by an exceptional performance from the ever-dependable Sally Hawkins. You will find yourself reluctant to visit her home, even if she extends an invitation

It is challenging to identify any redeeming qualities in this high-budget, multi-crore disaster. From the action sequences to the storyline, particularly the action, this film disrespects the audience’s intelligence, even if one assumes that the audience possesses a wide range of sensibilities.

Uske paisa hain izzat hain, SUV hain aur apni hi caste ka hain to kyun na karu shaadi” (he has respect, wealth, an SUV and he is from our caste so why shouldn’t I marry him), remarks the sister of the protagonist. The theme of caste is prominently featured in Dhadak 2, a remake of the Tamil film Pariyerum Perumal (2018) directed by Mari Selvaraj. This film serves as a spiritual sequel to Dhadak (2018), which itself was a remake of Sairat (2016).

To put it in plain English, Su From So, the Kannada film playing with English subtitles, is one of the most refreshing films in recent times Amidst the chaos and juvenile humor that characterize most Friday releases, this film, directed by J. P. Thuminad, arrives like a breath of fresh air.

The Fantastic Four - First Steps marks the entry of the Fantastic 4 in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Their appearance has been hinted in the past, most obviously in the post-credits scene of Thunderbolts*, earlier this year but this is their first full-fledged film and they will be seen again in Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for 2026.

Directed by Mohit Suro, Saiyaara is a love story that seems to exist solely within the realm of cinema. Where else can you see a character stating, “Dil se banaya gaana hain, feelings hain isme” (The song is crafted from the heart, it embodies emotions) with a straight face and in all seriousness? Or lines like, “Tumse milne ke baad mera dard beh gaya” (My sorrows have washed away after meeting you), as Vani Batra expresses to Krish Kapoor.

Following the release of Man of Steel (2013) and the critically panned Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), which failed to perform well at the box office, the Kryptonian superhero was granted a hiatus. This film has been in the works for some time; however, when Justice League (2017) encountered production difficulties, the sequel to Man of Steel was also sidelined. James Gunn, who directed the three Guardians of the Galaxy films for Marvel, has transitioned to D.C. with this new Superman project. Although Guardians franchise featured a team of superheroes while this one primarily focuses on a solo hero (with the Justice gang making a brief appearance), there is a significant difference in the tone of the two movies. Guardians was predominantly a light-hearted film that utilized humor to navigate its narrative, whereas Superman does not follow the same pattern. He faces a serious mission to thwart the nefarious schemes of Lex Luthor. With Lois Lane present, there is an opportunity to incorporate some romantic elements, and some of the most delightful moments arise from Krypto, the Superdog. . But otherwise, Superman plays it by the numbers.
